Charcoal.
Started out as a gift idea for a friend's birthday. The challenge has been working from a VERY small/low res image and fighting with the printer to show different amount of detail... Ended up working off FOUR printouts, all showing different amount of detail. Lost my focus and patience about 200 times, which is why it took bloody 2 months to complete...;
P.S. Just now, a year and a half after drawing this, I'm finding out that the original reference photo belongs to Aurelien Guichard and depicts a stairwell in Wolf Castle, Wales.
